About the event

Day 1 will focus on herbs and wild food for nourishment. We will learn to identify, harvest, and prepare the plants that promote and build health. As part of this day, we will prepare a wild/herbal/whole food lunch. Lunch preparation will be part of the learning experience.

Day 2 will focus on herbal medicine. We will take a wild plant walk, learning to identify medicinal plants that grow around us. We will talk about ways to differentiate the nourishing and the medicinal herbs as well as how to best prepare them for optimal benefit. As part of this walk, we will learn to engage our senses to explore plant qualities.

Lunch will be served and will include wild/herb/whole foods. The later part of the day will be spent making herbal medicines that participants will be able to take home. This will be a fun and full weekend. Everyone will leave with nourishing and medicinal herbal preparations that can be used at home. Come prepared to be fully immersed in the plant world!

Dates: Saturday and Sunday, July 27-28 Time: 9:00 am - 4:30 pm each day Lunch will be provided both days. Ages: 12+ Location: Rural La Farge, WI Materials Fee: $55

Sliding Scale Course Fee Guidelines (not including Materials Fees)

Supporter Level Ticket: $230 If you move through the world with financial ease and the means to fulfill many of your wants as well as your needs – you are able to eat out when you want, abundantly meet your needs through employment or can comfortably not work, have access to family wealth, own property, etc. – consider paying at this level, which will help us ensure the long term sustainability of our programs while keeping our offerings accessible to those with access to fewer resources.

Sustainer Level Ticket: $180 If you are able to meet your needs with relative ease while budgeting your educational and entertainment spending – for instance, you are able to take classes and eat out occasionally as long as you are mindful – consider paying at this level, which will help sustain the work of the Folk School at a modest level.

Supported Level Ticket: $130 If you struggle to fund your basic needs and have limited access to resources in your family and community, or if you would not be able to access this offering without a discounted payment option, consider paying at this level. We value your presence and contributions to our community and do not want any economic circumstances to be a barrier to attendance!
