About the event
Nourish your gut and reconnect with traditional food and herbal wisdom in this hands-on class. Together, we’ll look at how plants and cultured foods have long supported digestion, assimilation, and overall vitality. This class introduces digestive herbs and simple fermentation practices that can be easily woven into everyday life.
We’ll discuss how herbs support the digestive process, soothe irritation, stimulate appetite, and encourage digestive health. We will also explore the role of fermented foods in cultivating a healthy gut microbiome. Topics may include herbal teas, bitters, and tonics alongside ferments such as sauerkraut, kvass, or herbal ferments. We will sample several herbal preparations as well as fermented foods and make an herbal ferment that everyone will take home. Recipes will be provided.
