About the event
Explore the art of cheese making in this fun, hands-on class. The day will begin by making cultured milk and cream products, including kefir, yogurt, and piima, a Scandinavian cultured cream. These will then be transformed into fresh cheeses such as paneer, feta, and mozzarella. Cheese will be sampled during the class and participants will go home with cultures, cheese, rennet, and recipes to continue their cheesemaking journey! All cheese making supplies are included in the class. Students are asked to bring an apron and closed toe shoes. As this class runs through the lunch hour, it is recommended to bring a lunch or learn about local eating opportunities here https://marinemillsfolkschool.org/visitor-information/#eat
Students must be 16+ years to participate, ages 16-17 may attend without a parent/guardian with written permission emailed to info@marinemillsfolkschool.org. This class is suitable for all skill levels.
