About the event
Join herbalist Linda Conroy for this engaging and informative program to explore the lost art of applying herbs topically. Herbs have the capacity to promote skin healing, heal sprains and strains, as well as relieve pain. These are traditional and safe ways to promote health and support the body.
Discover the foundations of traditional herbal medicine in this hands-on, beginner-friendly class. We will explore safe and effective ways of working with plants for wellness and self-care. Students will learn the basic principles of herbalism, including plant preparation methods, ethical sourcing, and proper storage.
The class covers common medicine-making techniques such as infusions, decoctions, tinctures, oils, salves, and syrups. We will also discuss how to choose herbs for specific needs, understand basic herbal actions, and build confidence in creating remedies at home. Samples and supplies will be provided. Everyone will make two remedies to take home as well as a handout…
