About the event
Start the new year with a slow, satisfying craft. Join herbalist Linda Conroy at Silverwood Park for a full day of coiled basketry, working with long pine needles and fragrant sweetgrass.
Linda will guide you through designing and stitching your own coiled basket, from starting the center to building up the sides and finishing the rim. Coiling is a meditative practice with roots in many traditions, and once you learn the technique you can keep making baskets at home. Beginners and intermediate weavers are welcome.
Please bring scissors, a thimble, and reading glasses if you use them.
